<p><em>The aim of this research is to determine the influence of the self-directed learning model in the independent learning era on writing skills. The method used in this research was a quasi-experimental design. The sample of this study was 68 students of X at SMK Nusantara Siborongborong. They were selected by using the random sampling method. They were divided into two classes, 34 students as a treatment class who were taught using self -Directed learning Method and 34 others as a control class who were not taught by using self -Directed learning Method. In collecting data, the researcher provides tests twice, namely pre-test and post-test. Before conducting the post-test, the, researcher gave treatments in the experimental and control classes with different teaching techniques. The instrument used in this study was essay test about Description texts that had been declared valid. The data obtained from pre-test and post-test were analyzed by using t-test. Therefore, the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. <p><em>This research aimed to find out the effect of using the technique demonstration in writing procedure text at eleventh grade of SMK swasta HKI Sipahutar.This study is conducted by experimental and Quantitative method, the writer was involved two groups, one class as an experimentalclass, and another class a control class. In the research, the sample of the study was 65 students of the elevent grade of SMK swasta HKI Sipahutar. The class taught by using Demonstration Technique. The pre-test and post test were given to the students in both experimental and the control class. The treatment has been applied in experimental class which is writing procedure text through demonstration technique. The result between the experimental class and the control class differed in the pretest and posttest. This can be seen from the difference in the average value of the experimental class obtained from the posttest value of 78.75 and the pretest value of 64.84 and the difference in the average value of the control class obtained from the posttest value of 77.87 and the pretest value of 65.90.</em></p>Sari A. <p><em>English serves as one of the languages spoken worldwide that numerous individuals used on a daily basis all over the world. </em><em>Listening skill is important for learning, because it enables the students to get insight and get information, also to obtain success in communicated with others. Inside and outside the school or other place gave many listening opportunities, but some students had failed to capture what they listen to because they let their mind wander or they may only</em><em> concentrate</em><em> on what they want to say rather than listen to what speaker saying. </em><em>This study presents a research report on improve students understanding of listening skill by watching English movie through cinema education method. This research was conducted by using Classroom Action Research. This research was conducted on the tentth grade students of SMK Negeri 1 Siborong-borong. There are 5 classes of tenth grade, but this research using purposive sampling, and choose X TKJ2 as a subject according to discussion with school. There are 36 people in class X TKJ2. The subject was taught using by watching English movie. Quantitative data was collected by providing 15 multiple choice and 5 essay test questions that calculate the student's average. And the average şcore on the Cycle 1(pre-test) is 66,7, and the average on the Cycle 2 is 79. Based on the average scores of these students, it can be seen that there is an increase of students improve listening skills by watching English movie. Based on the results of the study, there were 29 students out of 36 students who had complete or achieved a score of > 75. Qualitative was collected based on the observation sheet and questionnaire. <p><em>This study aims to find out the significant effect on the students’ vocabulary mastery by using project-based learning models at SMA Swasta PGRI 20 Siborongborong. The writer used quantitative research and an experimental design. </em><em>The population of the research was the eleventh-grade students’ of SMA SWASTA PGRI 20 Siborongborong in academic year 2023/2024 with total 300 students distributed in 10 classes, from this population 20% of the population is taken so the sample size 20% x 300 students’ = 60 students. Two classes were taken as the sample by using random sampling. The sample than was divided in to two groups’ namenly experimental group and control group. Each of the group consisted of 30 students. The experimental group was taught by using project-based learning models, while the control group was not using models. The instruments for collecting data used giving plan, pre-test, treatment and post-test. The data were analyzed by using t-test formula. The result of the t-test showed that the value of t-test higher that the value of t-table (3,01 > 2,00) at the level significant 0,05 with the degree of freedom 58. Since the value of the t-test exceeded the value of t-table, the null hyphothesis (Ho) was rejected and the alternative hyphothesis (Ha) was accepted.
